Jovie of Las Vegas is partnering with a warm and energetic family in the 89124 area seeking a highly organized, proactive, and empathetic Part-Time Nanny. This is a wonderful opportunity to become an integral part of a household with an infant and an active older child, providing essential support and fostering a nurturing environment.
About the Family:
This Las Vegas family includes a 4-month-old infant, who is a happy and expressive baby. They also have a self-sufficient 10-year-old school-aged child, who is present in the home part-time due to a shared custody arrangement. The parents often work from home and are seeking flexible support to manage their dynamic schedule. They value open communication, a positive atmosphere, and a nanny who can seamlessly integrate into their routines.
The Role:
Your primary focus will be providing attentive and loving care for the infant, ensuring his feeding, napping, and playtime needs are met. You'll be a helpful presence for the older child, who is very independent and enjoys playing quietly or outdoors, often being a supportive "big brother" to the infant. When the infant is napping or the older child is engaged in independent play, you'll provide valuable assistance with light household tasks.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Providing dedicated care for the 4-month-old infant, including bottle feeding (pumped milk), engaging playtime, diapering, and supporting his nap routines.
Assisting with the infant's laundry and helping with family laundry (transferring, occasional folding/putting away).
Preparing simple meals for the older child (lunches, breakfasts) and assisting with light dinner prep (e.g., chopping vegetables, getting items from freezer).
Performing light household duties such as dishes, wiping counters, and occasional vacuuming.
Maintaining a tidy and organized environment related to the children's activities.
Potentially assisting with and taking advice on establishing a sleep training routine for the infant.
Supervising the older child's independent play, including outdoor activities within the gated neighborhood (helmets required for biking/skateboarding within designated areas).
Minimum Requirements:
Minimum of 2 years of verifiable childcare experience with infants and school-aged children.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Ability to pass a comprehensive background check.
Current CPR and First Aid certifications (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
Schedule:
Part-time, 9 guaranteed hours per week.
Primary days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, generally 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM.
Flexibility is key: Hours may vary between 3-5 hours on scheduled days, with potential availability needed on Thursdays (Fridays typically not needed).
